His story
David Vanner was a student.
He was the son of Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Vanner, of 30, Malpas Rd., Brockley, London.
He served as a private with the Wessex Divisional Veterinary Hospital, Army Veterinary Corps, under number TT/03728. His earlier service was with the Royal Field Artillery.
He died on 10 May 1918, aged 22. He is buried in Brockley Cemetery. His recorded grave or panel reference is Screen Wall. A. 1844.
The CWGC-derived family particulars name his mother Elizabeth Ann; an earlier next-of-kin entry uses Elen. His memorial photograph shows a screen-wall panel rather than an individual headstone.
