His story
Jacob NDINGE, no. 1039, died on 27 January 1917 and is buried at Dar es Salaam (Upanga Road) Cemetery, grave XII. B. 4. One CWGC-derived list files him under the South African Veterinary Corps with the recorded rank “Cape Boy”. The South African Roll of Honour instead assigns him administratively to the Native Labour Corps and identifies the veterinary corps as his unit. These descriptions should be retained together until the underlying record is examined.
