Brief history
No. 4 Veterinary Hospital crossed to France aboard SS Willow Branch and marched from Calais to Peuplingues. Forty hut tents were erected on arrival in June 1915.
Drinking water had to be brought from Calais because the local supply was insufficient. The mayor helped arrange water for washing. On 12 June an RSPCA motor lorry arrived from Forges-les-Eaux.
The hospital remained at Peuplingues, with diary records continuing into 1919.
