Biography
Captain William Walsh MRCVS was born in 1891 in Ballina County, Mayo, Ireland.
William Walsh enlisted in the British Army in 1917. He was sent to France in time to participate in the fighting until the Armistice suspended hostilities last November. He arrived home on January 9, 1919. For the greater part of the journey, he was in the best of health but became ill before reaching his journey’s end at Ballina.
He died of influenza on 27 February 1919
He is buried in Ballina Catholic Cathedral Churchyard.
