Biography
Captain William Scott was born in Ireland and served in the South African War with the mounted infantry. He then went to Australia and returned to England in 1900, becoming a well-known figure in Irish Horse racing.
At the outbreak of the war, he re-joined the Army Veterinary Corps and served until his death in November 1917. He served at the Remount Service at Arbour Hill Barracks in Dublin. The cause of death was Carcinoma of the Liver,
He is buried in Dean’s Grange Cemetery in Dublin, Ireland.
Captain Scott’s obituary appeared in The Veterinary Record dated December 1, 1917.
