Biography
Lieutenant Thomas Augustine O’Brien was born in Limerick, Ireland, on 28 August 1895.
He graduated from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Dublin in December 1917 and immediately joined the Army Veterinary Corps. He was appointed to the Curragh on 14 January 1918 and embarked for India on 21 March 1918.
He died from Influenza and Pneumonia on 6 October 1918 in Ajmere, North-western India.
He is buried in the Roman Catholic section of the Ajmer New Cemetery.
Lieutenant O’Brien’s death notice appeared in The Veterinary Record of February 22, 1919.
