Biography
Captain James Robert (Bertie) Crane was the eldest son of James and Annie Crane of Nottingham.
He was educated at Nottingham High School and qualified at Royal Veterinary College, London, in December 1906. During the Great War, he served as a Captain in the Army Veterinary Corps. He died from the disease in the 3rd London General Hospital, Wandsworth, on May 8, 1918.
He was 37 years old and was buried in Nottingham Church (Rock) Cemetery.
Captain Crane’s obituary notice appeared in the Veterinary record on June 8, 1918.
