Biography
Captain Frank Douglas Early was born in Brampton, Canada, on 15 August 1888. He graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1913 and began practising in Semans Saskatchewan, Canada.
January 1915, he was appointed to the Army Veterinary Corps and served in France.
He returned to Canada in early 1916, but in 1917, he wanted to serve overseas again. During his second service period in France, he was attached to the Strathcona Horse. In March 1917, the Regiment saw action as cavalry during the defence of the Somme front.
During his second period of service in France, he was taken seriously ill and sent back to Canada. In less than one month after his return, he died in hospital at Kingston.
Captain Early was buried with full military honours at Brompton Cemetery, Ontario.
