Biography
Captain Charles William Baker was born in Ontario on 4 September 1872.
He graduated from the Ontario Veterinarian College in 1892. On the 4th of February 1915, he left Toronto as a Lieutenant with the British Army. After a year, he came home for two months, returned to France as a Captain, and transferred to the Canadian army.
Captain Baker served in various veterinary hospitals on the front in France. On 27 December 1916, when serving near Arras, he fell from his horse and broke both his Tibia and Fibula. He was transferred to the First General Hospital in London, where he subsequently died from a blood clot.
