Biography

Captain Bruce Metcalf Mc Mahon was born in Frontenac County, Ontario, Canada, on 20 July 1884. He graduated from the Chicago Veterinary College in 1915.

Bruce McMahon’s enlistment papers indicate that he had been working for the British Remount Commission at the time of his enlistment. Metcalf was commissioned as a Temporary Lieutenant on 22 February 1916, and on 22 February, he was promoted to Captain.

For most of his war service, Captain McMahon served in France, but after the Armistice, he was transferred to Germany.

Captain McMahon died on 3rd May 1919 from Broncho Pneumonia. He is buried in Colone Southern Cemetery in Germany.
